Hawaii Lighthouse : The island of Oahu has several lighthouses under the watch and care of the US Coast Gaurd. The first of these is the Makapuu Lighthouse gaurding the jagged southeast shoreline just off of the popular surf spot Sandy Beach. The best known is probably the Diamondhead Lighthouse just off the road on the way to the best known land mark of Hawaii on Diamondhead Road. One other lighthouse is seldom seen by the public but is of great comfort to the sailors and shippers of the western shores at Barbors Point. This lighthouse guides the shipping lanes for the people of Hawaii and Asia.
